H.R.H. Ifatunbi Adefunmi, CEO of M’Press T

Meet H.R.H. Ifatunbi Adefunmi, also known as Tunbi or T, a Yoruba Priestess & Princess, Multicultural Ambassador for global evolution, and the visionary Executive Director of M’Press T. Tunbi, a wife and mother, is a photo-griot, activist, ambassador, and explorer.

Born and raised in America within the traditional African sovereign nation of Oyotunji, she carries a rich heritage that spans African, Panamanian, Jamaican, Barbadian, Native American, Irish, Scottish, and British ancestry. With roots deeply embedded in traditional African spirituality, Ifatunbi is a Mindful Medical Cannabis Consultant, Ed Tech Designer, and Exercise Physiologist.

As the daughter of the late King of Oyotunji, the Yoruba ruler in North America and a key figure in the African Restoration Movement, Ifatunbi's journey is a tapestry of diverse experiences. Born and raised in Oyotunji Village until the age of 11, she brings a unique perspective shaped by her family's commitment to cultural preservation.

Her educational journey includes a Bachelors of Science in Sports Medicine from Howard University and a Masters in Professional Services with a focus on Executive Management from St. Thomas University. Her  current educational pursuits include a Doctorate in Education Leadership, Innovation, and Digital Learning from St. Thomas University and the University of Maryland. She's concurrently working towards a Master of Science in Medical Cannabis Science and Therapeutics from the University of Maryland's School of Pharmacy, reflecting her keen interest in alternative approaches to wellness.

 

As an Exercise Physiologist, she worked with servicemen and women at the Beaufort Naval Hospital, demonstrating her commitment to health and well-being. Tunbi's passion for education and cultural arts led her to teach sociology, geography, and African Studies at various institutions, including the Yoruba Royal Academy, Davidson College, and the Edna Manley School of Performing Arts in Jamaica

Her diverse experiences extend to the corporate world, where she faced challenges but emerged as an entrepreneur, creating a fashion-influencing business and the blog "Dress To The T," which later evolved into M PRESS T media—a response to cultural competency gaps and social issues.

 

Tunbi's journey reflects resilience, navigating cultural challenges and promoting unity. Her ancestral roots connect to the Yoruba people of North America, with her father, the late King of Oyotunji, being a key figure in the African Restoration Movement. Tunbi's maternal lineage includes a grandmother from Panama and a mother, Queenmother Yeyefini, who is a Chief Priestess, traditional healer, author, and Ambassador to His Imperial Majesty Ooni of Ife.

 

This dynamic background has fueled Tunbi's commitment to community service, making her a dedicated advocate for underrepresented and disenfranchised communities, weaving together a narrative of cultural richness, activism, and global evolution.
